BRIGADIER GENERAL SAJJADUL HAQUE, afwc, psc

CHIEF INSTRUCTOR

Brigadier General Sajjadul Haque was commissioned in Bangladesh Army on 01 June 1984 in the Corps of Infantry. After commission, he attended numerous professional courses both at home and abroad. Brigadier General Sajjad is a graduate of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Mirpur, Command and General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth USA and National Defence College, Mirpur. He is a graduate of Chittagong University. Brigadier General Sajjad obtained master in Defence Studies from National University and Diploma in Defence Studies from North South Association of Colleges, USA. He has also appeared Master in Security Studies from BUP who’s result is being published.

Brigadier General Sajjad had distinct carrier with a mix of command, staff, instructional and diplomatic assignments. During his service he served as instructor at School of Infantry and Tactics, Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade, Grade-2 Staff Officer at Army Headquarters and Col Staff of an Infantry Division. He Commanded two Infantry Battalions and an Infantry Brigade. He was Directing Staff in Defence Service Command and Staff College at Miirpur. Brigadier General Sajjad Served with honour and pride as MILOBS with UNPROFOR in former Yugoslavia and in UN HQ, NewYork as Peacekeeping Affairs Officer. He visited a good number of countries in connection with official duties and attended many International Seminars and Conferences.

Brigadier General Sajjad was awarded with the title ‘Master Tactician’ by the Centre for Army Tacties, US Army. He is a successful military writer and wrote mumber of military Books and Pamphlets.


Brigadier General Sajjad is a sports enthusiast. He is habituated with all muslim foods. He is happily married of Mrs. Afsana Sajjad and proud father of a beautiful son and a lovely daughter.

 

DS Army 1

 COLONEL MUHAMMAD SHAMS-UL-HUDA, afwc, psc

DIRECTING STAFF (ARMY-1)

Colonel Muhammad Shams-ul-Huda, afwc, psc was commissioned in the Regiment of Infantry on 27 June 1986. During his long service career he attended many professional courses both at home and abroad including the Armed Forces War Course at National Defence College, Mirpur. Colonel Shams served in various staff, instructional and command appointments in different capacities. He served as instructor twice at Tactics Wing of School of Infantry and Tactics; Brigade Major of an Infantry Brigade; General Staff Officer Grade 2, General Staff (Coordination) of Army Headquarters. Besides the junior level regimental appointments, the officer commanded two Infantry Battalions and also commanded one Rapid Action Battalion.

He obtained Master of Defence Studies and Master of War Studies degrees from the National University, Bangladesh.

Colonel Shams served as Contingent Commander in UNUCI, Ivory Coast. He is a widely traveled person and visited a good number of countries of the world. He is married and father of one daughter. He joined the National Defence College on 04 February 2010.

 

DS Army 2

COLONEL MD ABDUR ROUF, afwc, psc

DIRECTING STAFF (ARMY-2)

Colonel Md abdur Rouf, afwc, psc, of Bangladesh Army was appointed as Directing Staff of Armed Forces War Course of National Defence College on 22 February 2011.

Colonel Md abdur Rouf, afwc, psc, was commissioned on 19 May 1985 with 12th BMA Long Course. During his long service career he attended many professional courses both at home and abroad including the Armed Forces War Course at National Defence College, Mirpur. Colonel Rouf  served in staff, instructional and command appointments in different capacities. He served as General Staff Officer Grade – 1 (Trg) in National Defence College. He also served in DSCSC and MIST as Instructor Class - A. Besides his mid level regimental appointments, the officer commanded 12 Engineer Battalion. His last assignment was the Instructor Class  A at MIST. He obtained Master of  Defence Studies degree from National University, and Master of War Studies degree from BUP and MSc Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technolog.

Colonel Rouf served  twice in UN Msn as Contingent Member, UNAVEM-III, Angola, and Force Engineer, FHQ, MINURCAT, Chad. He visited Angola, India, Singapore, Pakistan, Germany, Malaysia, Chad & Central Africa Republic. He is married and father of one daughter and one son. Reading book and listening to music are part of his daily routine.

CAPTAIN MOHAMMAD MUSA, (G), afwc, psc

DIRECTING STAFF (NAVY)

Captain M Musa, (G), afwc, psc, BN of Bangladesh Navy was appointed as Directing Staff (Navy) of Armed Forces War Course at National Defence College on 21 Sep 2010.

Captain Musa joined in the Executive Branch of Bangladesh Navy (BN) on 26 Jan 1985 and underwent the 3rd Jt Mil Trg with 15th BMA Long Course. Having done his Basic Cadet Training in Bangladesh Military Academy (BMA) and Bangladesh Naval Academy (BNA), he was selected to undergo basic and advance officers training to Royal Malaysian Naval Academy where he was commissioned after 2 years training and then underwent 1 year post-commission professional training. In his early carrier he served in various highly demanding appointments and attended number of professional’s courses home and abroad.

Captain Musa attended Missile Officer’s Course in China in 1992 and received distinction with diploma. He successfully completed 3rd BN Junior Staff Course with B+ Grading. He did his Specialization in Gunnery from Pakistan in 1995 securing the first position and awarded the ‘Top Gun’ award as the first and only foreign officer so far.  He also has done short course on main gun operation training in Italy in 2000. He successfully completed Naval Staff Course at DSCSC, Mirpur, in 1999 with B+ Grading (DS Recommended). Thereafter, he was sent to French War College, at Paris to undergo Inter Forces War Course and obtained distinction in both language and the War Course. He is a graduate of AFWC 2008.

Captain Musa obtained Masters in War Studies from (BUP) and Master in Arts in English literature from National University. He did the basic and advance French Language Course in Paris, prior attending French War Course in 2001.

Captain Musa has in his credit very comprehensive Command, Staff and Instructional experiences. He was the instructor in Naval Academy, Training Officer for Sea Training onboard Ship, OIC (Chief Instr) of BN Gunnery and Seamanship Schools. The Officer has participated in a Multinational Maritime Exercise in 1997 in Brazil along with many NATO navies.  

Captain Musa has served in different ships and establishments in various command, operation and staff assignments. He has commanded two Patrol Crafts (PC), one Large Patrol Craft (LPC) and one Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV). He served as Principal Warfare Officer in School of Maritime Warfare Tactics (SMWT), Executive Officer of BNS BANGABANDHU
(Msl Frigate) and BNS SHAHEED MOAZZAM (Trg Estb). He has also served as Staff Officer at Naval Headquarters as Staff Officer (Plans) and Staff Officer (Appointment).  

He attended UN Peace Keeping Operation in Ivory Coast as Military Observer in 2004 where he was also appointed as UN Liaison Officer to French Forces HQ in Ivory Coast. The officer visited a good number of countries for training and other official purposes.

Captain Musa is married to Mrs Nishat Rahman and blessed with two sons-Mujahid and Junaid. He plays squash and golf.

 

DS Air

GROUP CAPTAIN MUHAMMAD SHAFQAT ALI, afwc, psc

DIRECTING STAFF (AIR)

Group Captain Muhammad Shafqat Ali was commissioned in General Duty (Pilot) branch of Bangladesh Air Force on 12 January 1987. During his career, the officer served as Flying Instructor at BAF Academy, Flying Instructors’ School and Operational Fighter Squadrons; Flight Commander Operation and Training in Operational Fighter Squadrons, General Staff Officer-1 at Directorate General Forces Intelligence and Deputy Director Air Operation at Air Headquarters.  He Commanded a Fighter Conversion squadron, Administrative Wing in two Bases, Flying Wing of an Operational Fighter Base and served as Deputy Commandant in Bangladesh Air Force Academy. At present, the officer is serving as Directing Staff (Air) in Armed Forces War Wing of National Defence College, Bangladesh. He attended various professional Courses and Training both at home and abroad. Group Captain Shafqat is a graduate from Defence Services Command & Staff College and Armed Forces War Course from National Defence College, Bangladesh. He did his Fighter Conversion Training in F-7MB, MiG-29B and L-39ZA aircraft from China, Russia and Czech Republic respectively. The officer also served in UN mission at Democratic Republic of Congo as Deputy Chief Movement Control and Commander Bangladesh Airfield Services Unit in 2003-04 & 2007-08 respectively.

Group Captain Shafqat enjoys reading books & magazines and playing Tennis, Cricket, and Football. He is happily married and has two sons.
